Research Partnership Director Richard Head and Janssen Senior Market Research Manager, Stewart West, presented the paper “i Marks the Spot – how an innovative mobile methodology dug up hidden insights into patient compliance” at the BHBIA Annual Conference 2014.
The conference took place at The Grove, Chandler’s Cross 12-13th May 2014, attracting around 300 delegates from across the spectrum of healthcare business intelligence. In the spirit of the “Digging for Treasure” conference theme, Richard and Stewart’s paper addressed the age-old challenge of understanding poor compliance by introducing an innovative new methodological approach that seeks to reduce sensitisation bias and deliver a more accurate way of measuring and understanding compliance.
The paper investigated how these fresh insights into compliance with diet and exercise, in addition to medication, could improve patient outcomes and avoid unnecessary spending on diabetes related inpatient treatment. The paper incorporated findings from Research Partnership’s Living with Diabetes, a 3-phase research study which included mobile intercept research, as part of a broader study to investigate patients’ experience of living with Type 2 diabetes.
